A new species of genus Agapanthia Serville, 1835 (Coleoptera Cerambycidae) from Lampedusa Island (Sicily Channel, Italy)

    ABSTRACT
In this paper, a new species of Agapanthia Audinet-Serville, 1835, subgenus Epoptes Gistel, 1857 (Coleoptera Cerambycidae) from Lampedusa Island (Sicily Channel, Italy) is described. This new species belongs to the A. asphodeli (Latreille, 1804) species group. Taxonomic, biological and geonemic notes on A. lopadusae n. sp. are provided.

Second contribution to the knowledge of Longhorn Beetles of the Syrian Coastal Region (Coleoptera Cerambycidae)

    ABSTRACT
Knowledge relating to the Longhorn Beetles of Syria was extended in this study, with special emphasis on the Coastal Region (SCR), which was the focal point of a previous study we published last year (2015). This contribution provides a detailed account about additional species and subspecies that were collected from different areas and localities of the SCR, in as much as reporting two new species to be recorded for the first time from the Syrian territory, namely: Stenopterus atricornis Pic, 1891 and Pogonocherus barbarae Rapuzzi et Sama, 2012. Among the examined catches, one specimen was identified down to the genus level, but its species status is doubtful and its validity still needs further examination. All availabe faunistics, biogeographies and bionomics of all the reported species and subspecies are given. Moreover, a complete, refined and annotated checklist of the Syrian Cerambycidae was introduced, with special reference to all taxa recoreded from SCR up to the time of publication of this work.

A new species of Clytus Laicharting, 1784 from Greece (Coleoptera Cerambycidae)

    ABSTRACT
A new species of Clytus Laicharting, 1784 (Coleoptera Cerambycidae Cerambycinae Clytini) is described from Peloponnese, Greece. The new species is close to Clytus tropicus (Panzer, 1795) which is also reported as a new species for Italy.

Kabatekiipsebium yemenensis new genus and new species from Arabic Peninsula (Coleoptera Cerambycidae)

    ABSTRACT
Kabatekiipsebium yemenensis new genus and new species is described from Yemen and Oman. The new genus belongs to Psebiini Lacordaire, 1869 tribe and it is close to Pectinopsebium Adlbauer, 2012 and Bostrychopsebium Quentin et Villiers, 1971 but it is strictly related to Pectinopsebium by the shape of the antennae in both sexes. The new genus is easy to distinguish from all other genera of Psebiini by its particular shape of antennae, the length of the elytra and legs, and for the very small size of its body.

Two new species of Pseudosphegesthes Reitter, 1913 from Greece and Turkey (Coleoptera Cerambycidae)

    ABSTRACT
Two new species of Pseudosphegesthes Reitter, 1913 are described. One is from Peloponnese (Greece), the second one is from Southern Turkey. They are close to Pseudosphegesthes bergeri Sláma, 1982 from Crete (Greece).

Contribution to the knowledge of the Longhorn Beetles (Coleoptera, Cerambycidae) of the Syrian Coastal Region

    ABSTRACT
51 species including 10 subspecies belonging to 37 genera from 25 tribes are reported from the Syrian Coastal Region (SCR). Nine species were recorded for the first time in Syria. The status of 2 subspecies previously recorded was considered doubtful, and alternatives were suggested. Modern classification of the identified species is given; type species and some synonyms of taxa are also mentioned. A checklist of Cerambycidae fauna of the SCR is suggested. This knowledge of the Cerambycidae in SCR was a result of the study and examination of a total of 1224 specimens collected from 173 sites distributed across the different areas of the SCR during the period from 2011 until 2014. Collected specimens were prepared, examined, and then identified. All specimens were curated and permanently preserved in Entomology Laboratory of Tishreen University. Available chorotypes, distribution ranges of the identified species are provided; relating remarks, personal observations, and, sometimes, suggestions are also supplied.

Contribution to the knowledge of the Iraqi fauna of Longhorn beetles (Coleoptera Cerambycidae)
    https://doi.org/10.31396/Biodiv.Jour.2024.15.1.37.40

    ABSTRACT
The Iraqi fauna of Cerambycidae is still under-researched. This article contributes to the knowledge of the Cerambycidae fauna of Iraq by reviewing the updated literature, and reporting Phytoecia (Paracoptosia) urartica Kasatkin, 2015, as a new record for the Iraqi fauna. Furthermore, this article also includes an additional Southern distributional range and interesting localities of the recently described species, Dorcadion (Cribridorcadion) ringenbachi Rapuzzi et Sama, 2018, and the Middle East widespread Purpuricenus wachanrui Levrat, 1858.

First record of Prinobius samai Drumont et Rejzek, 2008 for Turkish Fauna, Mardin province (Coleoptera Cerambycidae)
    https://doi.org/10.31396/Biodiv.Jour.2023.14.4.689.691

    ABSTRACT
This paper is based on a project carried on for the purpose of studying the Coleoptera Cerambycidae Fauna of Mardin province (South East Turkey) in 2021 and 2022. Among the samples, we found a specimen of Prinobius Mulsant, 1842 that belongs to the species P. samai Drumont et Rejzek, 2008. The record is new for the Turkish Fauna and enlarges the range of this species on the North-West. This is not surprising because several species widespred in West Iran have recently been added to the South-East Turkey Fauna, especially from Mardin province.
